  • respond to support requests and account issues

  • comply with legal obligations

  • enforce our terms and policies

5. Profile Visibility and Sharing

pathsNetwork is designed so that not all user information is visible to all users.

Different categories of information may have different visibility rules depending on the feature, the user’s settings, and the relationship between users.

For example:

  • some profile information may be visible to signed-in users

  • some information may only be visible after users connect

  • some optional content may be visible based on audience settings such as public, connections, or hidden

  • some personal information remains private by default unless the user chooses to share it

Users should only include information they are comfortable sharing through the relevant feature.

6. Private Data by Default

Some information is treated as private by default and is not intended to be publicly visible to other users unless the user explicitly chooses to disclose relevant information through a feature.

This includes, for example:

  • email address

  • date of birth

  • certain account and subscription data

  • certain security and moderation data

We collect this information for service administration, account management, safety, age verification or eligibility checks, and legal or operational purposes.

7. Connection-Based Features

Some parts of pathsNetwork are designed to work only after users establish a connection with each other.

This means that:

  • users may only be able to directly message each other after connecting

  • certain profile visibility elements, including profile photos, may be restricted until users connect

  • connection data may be used to determine what features and information become available between users

We use this design to support privacy, trust, and safer interactions within the platform.

8. Messaging

If messaging is available between you and another user, we may process message content and related metadata in order to provide the messaging service, maintain security, investigate abuse, and ensure proper app functionality.

Users should avoid sharing sensitive personal information in messages unless they are comfortable doing so.

9. Invite System

pathsNetwork uses an invite-based access model. We may collect, store, and use invite-related information such as:

  • invite codes

  • who invited whom

  • invite usage

  • invite activity history

  • connection or link data created through invites

This information is used to operate the platform, manage invite access, improve trust and safety, and support relevant social features.

10. Marriage Profiles

pathsNetwork may include an optional marriage feature. If you choose to create or use a marriage profile, the information you provide for that feature may be visible to other eligible users within that feature according to the app’s design and settings.

Marriage profile information is intended only for use within that feature and should not be used by users for harassment, discrimination, or misuse.

Because this feature may involve more personal and sensitive information, users should only submit information they are comfortable sharing. We may apply additional controls, moderation measures, or visibility limits to this feature.

11. Masjid, Company, Marketplace, and Community Features

pathsNetwork may allow users to interact with masjid pages, company pages, community services, trade listings, prayer tracking, or other community-based tools.

Information submitted into these features may be visible to others depending on the purpose of the feature and its privacy design. For example, if a user posts content to a masjid-related page, a company page, a trade listing, or a community request feature, that content may be shown to other relevant users within the app.

12. Location and Live Features

Some features may allow users to share live location, location-linked alerts, map-based participation, or live status/speech information.

These features are optional. Where available, users may be able to control who can see such information through in-app privacy settings.

If you do not want location-linked information to be visible through these features, you should disable those features or choose more restrictive privacy settings where available.

13. Premium Subscriptions

pathsNetwork offers optional premium subscriptions that unlock enhanced features.

We use subscription-related information to:

  • activate premium features

  • confirm eligibility for premium access

  • manage subscription state

  • handle customer support related to memberships

  • keep records of entitlement and account status

We do not sell subscription data and do not use subscription purchases to serve third-party advertising.

14. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal data.

We may share information in the following circumstances.

A. With Other Users

Because pathsNetwork is a social and community platform, information may be shared with other users when that sharing is part of the service. This may include:

  • profile information you choose to display

  • posts, comments, reactions, and shared content

  • connection-related visibility

  • messages sent through the app

  • masjid, company, community, trade, or marriage feature content you choose to submit

  • feature-specific information according to privacy settings and app design

B. With Service Providers

We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the app, such as providers for:

  • cloud hosting

  • authentication

  • database and storage systems

  • analytics

  • crash reporting

  • customer support

  • subscription infrastructure

  • security and moderation tooling

These providers may process information on our behalf under appropriate contractual and operational controls.

If you use pathsNetwork on iOS or Android, certain information may also be processed by Apple or Google as part of app distribution, billing, identity, subscription, device, and operating system services.

15. No Sale of Data and No Third-Party Ads

pathsNetwork does not sell users’ personal data.

pathsNetwork does not currently run third-party advertising and does not operate an advertising-based business model. Our revenue comes from optional premium subscriptions and paid feature access.

If this ever changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and any required disclosures before implementing such changes.

16. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable under data protection law, we process personal data on one or more of the following bases:

  • to perform our contract with you and provide the service

  • for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the platform

  • with your consent, where you choose to enable optional features or provide optional information

  • to comply with legal obligations

Where optional features involve more sensitive personal information, we will only process such information where we have an appropriate legal basis and, where required, an additional lawful condition under applicable law.

17. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:

  • maintain your account

  • provide app functionality

  • preserve safety and moderation records

  • resolve disputes

  • enforce our agreements

  • comply with tax, accounting, legal, and regulatory obligations

Retention periods may vary depending on the data type. For example:

  • account information may be kept while your account remains active

  • content you create may remain until you delete it, it is removed under our policies, or it is no longer needed

  • some technical, moderation, security, and billing records may be retained for a reasonable period after account closure where necessary

When data is no longer needed, we may delete it or anonymise it.

18. Account Deactivation and Deletion

If you deactivate or delete your account, some of your information may be removed or no longer visible in the app. However, we may retain certain data where necessary for legitimate business purposes, legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, or enforcement of our terms.

19. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for using the app responsibly.

20. International Transfers

Your information may be stored or processed in countries outside your home country, depending on where our infrastructure and service providers operate.

Where required by applicable law, we take appropriate steps to protect personal information transferred internationally.

21. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to:

  • access your information

  • correct inaccurate information

  • request deletion of your information

  • restrict certain processing

  • object to certain processing

  • request portability of your information

  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

  • complain to a relevant data protection authority

To exercise your rights, please contact us at: help@thepathsnetwork.com

22. Children

pathsNetwork is not intended for users below the minimum age permitted under our rules and applicable law. If we believe personal information has been collected from a person who is not permitted to use the app, we may take steps to remove the information and restrict or close the account.

23. Third-Party Services

pathsNetwork may rely on third-party services to provide parts of the service, including app distribution, subscription billing, hosting, storage, authentication, analytics, or crash reporting.

Your use of those third-party services may also be subject to their own privacy policies and terms.

24. Changes to This Privacy Policy
